Active Tree Services is Australia’s largest vegetation management company. What does this mean? It means we manage the growth of individual trees, typically in and around the places where people live, work and play to help prevent fire and minimise risk to our communities.
We are a carbon-neutral organisation and are always looking for innovative ideas to give back to the environment. We have plentiful opportunities to work outdoors amongst nature, as well as indoor work if that’s more your thing. We foster team member development and invest in training for our people with a significant portion of our leaders being promoted from within. We are committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate, and donate 10% of our profits each year to charity.
We are at the beginning of actively pursuing our diversity and inclusion journey. There are some great things such as workplace flexibility and indigenous partnerships already taking place. These have evolved over time because of the care we have for our people, and we are in the process of further ingraining these into our culture to become an even better place to work.
We have respect for all and aim to continuously learn from our people. If you want to be part of our journey and have real impact in shaping who we are, we want to hear from you.
Active Tree Services support career changes, a perfect example of this is when Active reached out to Angela Evans to see if she would consider a role with Active.
I had worked in hotel management, which was very different. I had heard good things about Active, that it was a great company to work for. In the three years since I haven't looked back, the company culture is the key feature that makes Active a great place to work, they’re just a good bunch of people.
Angela Evans, Contract and Training Co-ordinator
In an industry traditionally worked by men, Bree Counsell and Darcie Newman have been warmly welcomed into the Active fold working as EWP operators and say it’s an industry more women should consider.
Obviously we work with a lot of blokes, and we all get along really well. They’ve made us feel comfortable and looked after us. …. If you’ve got a question, you’re welcome to ask anyone and everyone’s willing to help each other out.

While working towards formalising flexible working guidelines using a principles-based approach to gain the WORK180 Endorsement, support for sustainable implementation comes from the top-down, with CEO Karl Cope being the key advocate.
WORK180 is excited to support Active Tree Services towards being an Endorsed Employer for Women and look forward to celebrating their wins on their journey with us, so watch this space!
We encourage you to check out their jobs and reach out to the Active Tree Services team for your next role or role change!
