Call for Computational Biology/Medicine Researchers at Microsoft Research New England

We are seeking applicants in Microsoft Research New England (Cambridge, MA) for full-time positions in computational biology and medicine. In particular, we are looking for candidates able to bridge computational/statistical thinking and open problems in biology and medicine.

As a researcher in MSR, you will define your own research agenda, driving forward an effective program of basic, fundamental, and applied research. Required Qualifications:

  • PhD (or anticipated completion of PhD close to employment start date) or 3 years of experience doing either supervised or independent research in (1) a field directly relevant to ML (e.g., Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics) or (2) ML-driven research in biology or healthcare (e.g., Computational Biology/Chemistry, Systems Biology, Bioengineering, Biomedical engineering).
  • Research ability demonstrated by journal and conference publications and/or preprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in research that combines biology or medicine with machine learning or statistics (or related fields).
  • A complete application packet should include:

  • At least 3 reference letters.
  • Research statement that outlines your research achievements and agenda.
