About the role:

Samsara is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager to own Operational Excellence programs for the Global Technical Support organization. You will work closely with the Support Leadership team to identify critical strategic programs for the business, and scope, develop, and lead execution for those programs.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for scaling organizations, streamlining operations, and is eager to lead a variety of projects in a fast-moving environment. Validated project management skills, strong business acumen, the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and a technical background are required. The role reports to the Head of Support Operations, a team responsible for Service and Operational Excellence for Samsara’s global Technical Support organization.

In this role, you will own:

  • Best Practice Research: Lead industry research of best practices to ensure Samsara is building upon cutting-edge technologies and management practices to build a world-class Technical Support organization
  • Project Development and Prioritization: Identify our toughest operational problems through engagement with our customers, frontline teams, and leadership, and prioritize the most impactful projects
  • Program Management: Examples of Ops Excellence programs include Support Technology Roadmap, Process and Workflow Optimization, Business Continuity Planning, Resource and Capacity Planning, Cost Management, Global Expansion Planning, and many others
  • Cross-Functional Management: Work with cross-functional leaders to scope projects, align objectives, and coordinate stakeholders to deliver outcomes for Samsara and our customers
  • Program Management Foundations: Build a project and program management foundations by establishing tools, process, and communication standards for program management within the Technical Support organization
  • Results: Measure expected and actual results for your programmatic areas, and drive continuous improvement processes to achieve and maintain operational excellence

An ideal candidate has:

  • B.S. or higher, preferably in Business, Engineering, or other quantitative field
  • MBA is a plus
  • 7+ years experience working within operations and/or program management teams within well run Technical Support, Sales, Success, or Product organizations
  • Track record of delivering results that demonstratively improve the customer experience
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence and lead complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, with experience implementing program management best practices
  • Experience with B2B hardware and SaaS products a plus
  • PMP certification a plus

Employees are also able to work from countries and states where Samsara is a registered entity through June 2021, full list of locations here.
