Role: Copywriter

Location: Sydney

The Monkeys are looking for a Copywriter to join our Creative team in Sydney. Your role will be to provide ideas and concepts that inspire each brief you work on, for the wider team and our clients. Working in partnership with the Art Director, you will aim to produce work that is creative and effective, making provocative ideas happen.

The Role

  • Ability to write diverse copy for a multitude of clients, briefs and campaigns

  • Ability to adapt copy to the environment of all different mediums

  • Proactively develop ideas for existing and potential clients

  • Write and craft copy from the initial brief

  • Present creative concepts, scripts and other work internally and to clients

  • Work with the internal production departments and external production agencies and companies

  • Brief and provide feedback clearly and articulately to agency producers

  • Attend shoots and direct talent, where necessary in conjunction with directors or photographers

  • Work with our internal Business Management team to ensure clear delivery of client briefs

  • Have effective relationships to ensure best ideas are put forward, and proactively sell additional ideas to clients

About you

  • Excellent attention to detail – you check everything, then check it again

  • Must be highly organised and motivated, with a real sense of drive.

  • Can understand and appreciate visual elements.

  • Conceptual thinking comes naturally to you.

  • You’re reliable and punctual.

  • Friendly, approachable, and well-mannered.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within creative agencies, both locally and internationally.
