Job Description

The Position

The Finished Product Warehouse Team leader forms an integral part of Albemarle’s Supply Chain team, ensuring efficient and effective operation of the Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate and Sodium Sulphate Anhydrous warehouses in a safe, environmentally responsible, productive, and efficient manner.

Leading a team of operators in an inspiring, diverse and inclusive environment with open communication.

Setting clear team goals and delegation of tasks to support individuals to reach their full potential and achieve the business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Motivate your team to work safely and respectfully of themselves and others.
  • Identify opportunities to coach and reward individuals to create an inclusive culture that values and encourages diversity and promotes team over individual.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback and hold people accountable for their actions and responsibilities in meeting those expectations.
  • Ensure your team’s compliance to instructions, policies, procedures and operating conditions and limits.
  • Provide clear work instruction to all responsible team members to ensure key performance and safety objectives are met.
  • Ensure that all team members (including contractors) are trained and competent for the tasks undertaken, with the support of the Training Team.
  • Listen to team member’s feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Identify potential risks to performance. Lead your team in resolving issues where possible. Escalate to the relevant stakeholders to minimise impact when necessary.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and sign off on all warehouse related customer complaints.
  • Mange direct reports through Workday and ensure all goals and development plans are completed successfully.
  • Maintain and operate a clean and safe work environment.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and other documentation as required.
  • Identify potential risks to personnel or plant safety, reliability, quality, or productivity whilst working as a team to collaboratively resolve issues.
  • Undertake and successfully manage all required training and development activities.
  • Ensure all warehouse operators complete Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) and SCAN prior to performing tasks
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times
  • Ensure processes are in place regarding Finished Products to verify conformance to applicable quality standards
  • Manage inventory, including reviews of stock levels and ongoing cycle counting.
  • Ensure materials handling equipment, including forklifts and reach stacker are maintained and operated safely
  • Ensure the handling, loading and storage of dangerous goods as per Australian Industrial Standards
  • Develop and improve warehouse operations policies and procedures within a global framework.
  • Identifies and reports all safety related incidents and is involved if required in investigations
  • Encourage an on-time-delivery environment and strive for continuous improvement of customer experience.

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ warehouse experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a diverse team
  • Commitment to a practical approach to safety and the well-being of self and team members.
  • Ability to engage and communicate clearly with key stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Ability with demonstrated experience to lead a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
  • Manage conflicting priorities while maintaining key stakeholder interests and relationships
  • Ability to show initiative and a motivation to continually improve.

Education / Qualification Requirements

  • Certificate in Warehousing and Logistics
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Forklift License
  • CN & Dogging
  • Chain of Responsibility and Load Restraint
  • DG by Air is desirable
  • DG Warehousing highly regarded
