About the job
This is a unique opportunity for a professional Environmental leader to join our largest Alumina Refinery, and an organisation with extremely high global Environmental standards.
You will be part of a collaborative leadership team and support access to Environmental systems, processes, requirements, and technical advice necessary to meet the business needs.
Key activities include;
Assisting the operations to identify its environmental strategic risks and align the Environmental functional support to meet and address these needs, including maintaining the statutory environmental licences required to meet legal requirements and performing environmental monitoring.
Manage key relationships with government agencies to ensure future legal and other requirements are managed.
Actively participate in the wider business environmental forum to share information and best practice and gain alignment with the wider organisation.
Support, mentor and provide leadership to the environmental team to achieve a high standard of environmental performance and culture.
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
A degree qualification in Environmental Science or a similar field, working within the resources or heavy industrial sector
Prior experience in a senior environmental position and experience of leading and developing teams through effective training and mentoring,
The ability to lead both strategically and operationally,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for safety of people and work practices,
Sound understanding of procedures and policies.
