Can you bring your technical expertise, industry knowledge and leadership skills to our Powerhouse to support continuous improvement and best practice? Then we want to hear from you!

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will play an integral role in setting the direction for mechanical reliability engineering and combustion systems within Pinjarra, Kwinana or Wagerup powerhouse locations.

This hands-on role will see you leading, directing and coaching a team of professional leaders and engineers with a mid to long term focus in identifying and supporting improvements. You will act as a catalyst in the implementation of change and innovation to support the achievement of cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities to critical Utility equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take the lead in process support, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

  • Resolve complex issues within your area of technical expertise.

  • Ensures that engineering resources are contributing towards an environmentally sound, safe and healthy workplace by monitoring and auditing the design, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems to comply with all standards and regulations.

  • Performs system and equipment health & integrity inspections.

  • Administer the overall mechanical engineering and combustion processes.

  • Seen as an expert facilitator and problem solver using a variety of reliability tools.

  • Project manage the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions that are outcomes of equipment improvement initiatives.

  • Acting as a catalyst in the implementation of change and innovation to support the achievement of reliability improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree.

  • Experienced in a mechanical engineering field within heavy industry, refining or large-scale fixed plant environments. A background within the power industry would be highly desirable.

  • Experience on Combustion type B appliances considered desirable.

  • Ability to build both functional and site wide operational relationships.

  • Previous engineering supervisory experience.

  • A strong customer centric mentality with a commercial acumen to balance business needs.
