Lead Onboard Engineer

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Manager and Project Engineer on delivering onboard dual fit delivery
  • Provide technical support for engineering design, installation, and test activities as part of ATP Dual Fit on electro-diesel locomotives
  • Liaise with the customer and vendor for design lifecycle including managing technical interfaces
  • Liaise between the engineering team in Australia and international design and other functions within the project i.e., safety, test and commissioning teams
  • Report progress against Dual Fit schedule, highlighting key issues and risks
  • Coordinate on-site support to vehicle survey, installation, and test activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of similar experience in Railway signalling works mainly onboard or vehicle engineering.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in the areas of railway systems, preferably with locomotive ATP (ETCS) integration
  • Hands on experience on creating, reviewing engineering documents
  • Good understanding of Railway standards
  • Deep knowledge of Electrical circuits.
  • Good understanding of interface design.
  • Demonstrated design, system interface, installation and project delivery experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including ability to interface with suppliers, customers, partners and internal stakeholders
  • Leading heavy haul rolling stock train management system design or integration is a plus.
