Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a talented technical voice to advocate to, and on behalf of, the AWS Native Container Services team. Developer Advocacy drives contribution, adoption, and community engagement for Amazon Container Services across the globe, while providing feedback and insight to help create the best container-focused products on the planet. The Native Container Services team is tasked with building and operating services such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Fargate, App Runner, and App Mesh, that make it easy for customers to run container-based applications and microservices in production using cloud-native tools and products. As part of the larger team that is responsible for Amazon EKS, Lambda, Elastic Container Registry, and AWS Proton, this is the place where the present and future of cloud-based compute is being created. In this role, you will jump into situations where ambiguity is the norm, be obsessed about the experience of our customers, drive cross-team and cross-product projects to completion and use your technical ability and market context to validate the direction of Amazon Native Containers. You will join a talented team of Developer Advocates to learn from, and with, in an atmosphere that is engaging, diverse, and dynamic.

Key job responsibilities
Ideally, you are someone who has written code, operated infrastructure, and can get in the technical weeds with the best of them. Hands on experience building and delivering solutions with Amazon container products will be very useful in this role. You get great satisfaction from guiding developers and enterprises towards a technology you believe in. You have immediate credibility with developers evidenced by your experience on platforms such as GitHub, Twitter, and Medium, but are equally comfortable working with decision makers at large enterprises. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so. You don’t just want to be part of an industry movement, you want to be out front leading it. If this sounds like you, this is your dream job. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive adoption of containers and other container technologies
  • Working directly with the service team to identify and develop new features/functionality and improvements based on feedback gathered from customers
  • Actively participating in open source projects and being a member of the open source community
  • Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist, and keynote speaker at meetups, technology conferences, trade shows and press events
  • Creating screencasts, white papers and tutorials about emerging technologies and industry developments
  • Maintaining a strong and credible presence in technology channels relevant to developers
  • Working with your worldwide AWS service team advocacy counterparts to share best practices and help build a best-in-the-industry organization committed to building the best cloud products on earth
