Job summary
This role can be based in the US, UK, Germany, Spain, South Korea, India, UAE, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.

The Senior, Business Development, Research, will be a recognised leader in the field, have a deep understanding of the research segment and be able to demonstrate experience in managing the development of cloud-native digital solutions and taking them to market

Key job responsibilities
The Senior, Business Development, Research will work with customers, field staff and senior leaders to develop new ideas for solutions and sales programs. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial technology sales environment with multiple teams across more than 40 countries. Typically, cross-functional collaboration includes sales, business development, product development, solutions architecture, marketing, partners, finance, legal, and professional services.
  • Lead the drafting and communication of AWS’s research strategy
  • Build business cases for solutions and programs with international applicability
  • Share knowledge effectively across the international education team
  • Engage and influence sector leaders

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in strategy, business development, and/or product management roles in research and/or infrastructure and cloud technology
  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing digital innovation or equivalent consultative-selling role
  • Go-to-market experience working with new product/service development teams
  • Experienced and confident working with senior stakeholders and executive teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms
  • Demonstrated experience with training and enablement

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant master’s or doctorate degree
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects
  • Data driven
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Adept at simplifying complexity
  • High ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Ability to work well with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
•Good working knowledge of AWS services
