About The Role

Our Senior Site Nurses actively contribute to the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Health & Hygiene Management strategy and programs, which include the provision of nursing services to site personnel as required, the effective maintenance of medical related systems, relevant medical and health records and documentation, and will coordinate biological sample collection and reporting to DMIRS.

Accountable to the Superintendent: Health and Hygiene (Operations), this permanent role will be based at the Tropicana Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

  • Provide primary medical and emergency treatment
  • Co-ordinate off site referral processes through Injury Management Provider and Medical Providers
  • Provide timely reporting and updates on outcome and status of injuries.
  • Management of medical centre and equipment
  • Conduct or co-ordinate alcohol and drug screening, audiometric testing, lung function and other on-site health testing/assessments as required
  • Prepare and maintain medical and health related records and registers and relevant reports/scorecards.
  • Review pre-placement and other medical assessments
  • Support the development and maintenance of processes for the work group creating a culture of continuous improvement to lift the efficiency and effectiveness of the work outputs.

About You

  • Experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably with 2 – 5 years of emergency and remote/mining experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) (NMBA/AHPRA registration)
  • CRANA certification (desirable)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS)
  • Specimen Collection Authorised Drug Screen Collection Officer.
  • Proficiency in health and medical databases and Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated experience in injury management process and knowledge of Western Australian Workers Compensation System (desirable)
  • Current full West Australian “C” class drivers license
  • Existing and ongoing permanent working rights in Australia
