The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Coordinator – Power to join us in our Infrastructure Engineering team in Brisbane or Melbourne on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager – Power, you will provide a key role in managing and coordinating all engineering activities as part of the delivery project team on your designated projects. Projects may encompass solar, wind, BESS, and/or gas fired power generation technologies delivered on an EPC / D&C or multi-contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed engineering design documentation including FEED studies, scopes of works, specifications, datasheets, calculations, reports, drawings etc.
  • Support APA procurement through technical clarifications, tender technical review and evaluations, technical input to Agreement finalisation
  • Manage and review of the project engineering deliverables undertaken by EPC or D&C contractors
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces between contract packages where delivered under multi-contract delivery models
  • Support the delivery project team from final investment decision (FID) through to commercial operations, including supporting with planning and approvals, grid connections, quality management, site construction and commissioning
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all business functions to successfully integrate and establish new assets into APA’s operations team wider business functions
  • Ensure engineering and design documentation prepared by APA or external engineering design contractors are compatible with statutory regulations, applicable standards, client requirements and APA standards, processes and procedures
  • Coordinate design risk assessment and safety studies
  • Prepare and review engineering work packs for tender and purchase

Your background

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent experience
  • Relevant and proven industry experience in the design, procurement, and installation of power generation, energy storage, or similar assets
  • Capability to provide engineering expertise in your discipline and make sound engineering decisions for the successful delivery, reliability and longevity of new assets
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and associated International reference standards
  • A working knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety legislative requirements
  • Chartered Professional Engineer, or Registered Professional Engineer Queensland, or eligible for registration by qualification or experience within 1 year
