The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician- Electrical & Instrumentation to join our maintenace team at Diamantina Power Station in Mount Isa, QLD on a full time permanent basis.

This role will offered on residential based in Mt Isa.

Reporting to the team leader, in this role at DPS you will be one of a small group maintenance team. You will play a key role in providing maintenance support to the Diamantina Power Station and associated equipment and plant so that the equipment is maintained with all technical, statutory or health and safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities and required outcomes are similar/equivalent to that of a power station maintenance technician or production technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance assigned tasks.
  • Contribute and execute implementation process improvements as directed.
  • Actively participate in, and contribute towards, achieving goals defined in Team Action Plans.
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of designated items of the Plant.
  • Actively utilise the Mainpac Maintenance Management system ensuring maintenance tasks are accurately progressed and continuously recorded.
  • Execute a regular and consistent reporting practice/process.
  • Actively contribute to the success of the power Plant team by working collaboratively with others.

About You

  • Relevant trade qualifications essential, tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in utilities or large industrial asset operations or maintenance
  • Experience in thermal power plants with a preference for gas turbine combined cycle plant or with Gas Engine Power Plants.
  • Current Queensland “C” drivers licence.
  • Sound understanding of Australian Standards/Practices and statutory requirements relating to the operation and maintenance of utilities asset
  • Willing and able to work independently and proactively prioritise work to progress without direct supervision.

About the Team

You will be joining the hundred strong and growing QLD O&M team who operate and maintain the QLD Gas Transmission network, Power assets including Gas and Solar stations along with high voltage transmission line connectors (Vic/SA & Northern NSW).

This is an exciting time for you to join the Diamantina team as we integrate a number of projects into the station.
