About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Reporting Analyst reporting to the Regulatory Accounting Manager. You will play an important role delivering insightful regulatory reporting for internal strategic decision-making and to meet external reporting obligations to the Australian Energy Regulator.

You will also be responsible for driving process improvement by challenging the status quo and identifying and executing on opportunities for greater efficiency. In addition, this role is responsible for presenting timely and accurate delivery of reporting requirements with no significant audit issues.

What you will deliver

  • Prepare accurate and timely data for AusNet’s Annual Reporting to the Australian Energy Regulator
    • Preparing financial data based on financial records
    • Coordinating non-financial data to be provided by other areas of the business
    • Reconciling financial data to Statutory Financial Statements
    • Liaising with external auditors, ensuring satisfactory and timely resolution of any matters raised
    • Providing commentary and analysis to explain key variances and movements from prior periods and allowances.
  • Review and analyse cost allocations across the organisation, ensuring consistency and compliance with cost allocation methodologies
  • Prepare an internal Capex and Opex Reporting with insightful analysis to support business decision making by leaders from across the business.
  • Insightful financial analysis of regulatory performance

  • SAP AFO experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and Finance (preferably CA or CPA)
  • Strong understanding of accounting (operating/capital expenditure, project accounting).
  • Ability to understand analyse and interpret operating costs and capital expenditures and their key business drivers
  • Ability to influence key business stakeholders in order to achieve desired outcomes
