Our Investment Compliance and Operational Risk Team (ICOR) is the First Line Risk Team that supports the Investments and Finance & Operations Groups in meeting their compliance and operational risk management accountabilities. The Team plays a key role in frameworks, policy and regulatory implementation, strategic projects and is dedicated to identifying efficient and effective ways to uplift the control environment. Your new role

This is a senior role that supports the management and oversight of the end-to-end control environment across the Finance & Operations Group, reporting into the Principal, Operational Risk & Controls. The role will partner with business units across the Investment Operations and Investment Compliance & Operational Risk departments to enable and embed the operation and management of their risk profile in line with the Fund's Risk Management Framework.

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of first line activities for the Investments Operations & ICOR Groups.. The role will also be responsible for partnering with designated business units within two key departments to provide an end-to-end risk and control service to enable them to manage their risk profile.

Some key duties but not limited to:

  • Ensure specific risk areas are appropriately reviewed, managed, monitored and integrated with the overall delivery of the risk framework and recorded within the GRC system. This will include incident reporting, control identification, a control self-assessment program, monitoring of findings and actions, business continuity scenarios and model management.
  • Appropriately escalate issues and incidents as they occur to relevant business leaders.
  • Monitor the Group's risk appetite assessment and key risk indicator program and reporting.
  • Provide relevant and timely risk reporting with specific data analysis and insights on the risk profile.
  • Engage with Technology Services on incidents that impact the Group and the remediation status.
  • Partner with Group Risk on business risk and control matters or changes to the Fund's framework that impacts the Group.

What you'll need

  • Minimum 10-years post-graduate experience in either Investment Operations, Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal or External Audit.
  • An understanding of prudential or investment markets regulations with respect to risk management and investment governance. Experience may be drawn from either first, second or third line of defence risk management functions within major financial institutions, custodians, superannuation funds or an insurance office. Specific investment operations exposure is an added benefit.
  • Exposure or knowledge of back and middle office processes or custodian services is highly beneficial.
  • Exposure to risk and control identification, and testing practices/methodologies.
  • Exposure to or experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and/or Investment Portfolio Management systems.
  • Strong engagement skills that reflect a professional, collegiate and engaging approach to risk management.
