Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Technology this role sits within Technology Services and will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex technology projects / portfolio of initiatives to enable better outcomes for our members and colleagues.

  • Partner with Project Managers and be responsible for planning, delivery, deployment and handover of the technology components of projects
  • Partner closely with the Solution Delivery Managers (Technology Project Managers) to project manage technology delivery of multiple projects
  • Own the delivery of technology change and ensuring that it meets business requirements and quality expectations
  • Understand the Fund's strategic and departmental objectives and agreed service levels, as well as external factors (such a regulatory requirements), and use this information to design and maintain reporting outcomes and influence other activities
  • Play an active role in early engagement with Technology Services to assess technology impacts, dependencies, and do-ability
  • Drive evidence based, pragmatic decision making - through the selection of appropriate and simple reports and metrics that provide solid data for informed decision making
  • Utilise consistent agile practices across the portfolio to help shift the team from delivering technical outcomes to business value
  • Assist in uplifting agile delivery and user centric design practices across Enterprise Technology, Technology Services and across the Fund
  • Actively coach other team members within the portfolio to help create an engaged, and member & colleague centric team
  • Partner and build relationships with vendors & service providers to enable successful delivery of vendor products
  • Work with the Program Delivery Lead to identify suitable resource model to transition vendor solutions into a successful BAU support
  • Assist in RFI/RFP, due diligence, and risk assessments on vendor solutions

What you'll need

The successful candidate will have proven expertise in leading complex technology projects and have depth of experience across various project management methodologies including agile. You will bring;

  • 10+ years' experience in Technology projects and/or portfolio management, including applications and infrastructure experience
  • Demonstrates extensive experience in complex, technical projects and/ or portfolio management, including applications and infrastructure experience delivered in medium to large matrix organisations
  • Proven program management experience
  • A leader who is resilient, engaging, and passionate about motivating employees to drive exceptional business and individual performance, and an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Collaborative, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior leadership leaders of the Fund
  • Commercially astute, with strong financial management, supplier management, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the Fund
  • Experienced in operating in a hybrid (insourced & outsourced) operating environment with strong vendor management skills
  • Experienced in managing global teams
  • Experience in Financial Services, Investment Management and / or Superannuation areas
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Relevant certifications in project management, such as, Prince2 or PMP
  • Agile certification such as Scaled Agile
