Technical Business Analyst
Bank of Queensland (BOQ)
Location: South Brisbane
Job Type: Full time
About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join BOQ Group (which includes Bank of Queensland, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank) as a Technical Business Analyst during our digital transformation journey on a permanent basis. By joining the digital bank of the future, you will be able to make a difference with integrity and empathy by supporting our digital banking ecosystem, adding significant value to our organisation. With exciting projects currently underway, you will be a key contributor to unique business development and change across the BOQ Group.
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will primarily support Virgin Money Australia's digital banking ecosystem (part of the BOQ Group family), working closely with suppliers/vendors to ensure that technical requirements are accurately understood and translated into artefacts. You will further ensure they are easily consumed by Product, Operational and Development teams.
Working closely with the Senior Manager of Digital Bank Continuous Delivery, you will furnish technical documents on behalf of the bank to support changes to processes, policies and/or information systems. Working alongside the broader Business Process Improvement team, providing sufficient operational/service transition, you will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.
Furthermore, you will support continuous improvement initiatives along with defect management processes where technical exploration of issues may be required. This will require you to work with both agile and waterfall processes including creating user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, workflow diagrams, functional specifications, business requirements, business cases and product designs.
This is a challenging and exciting role in a progressive environment utilising cutting-edge data and technology to assist VMA and the BOQ Group more broadly in our digital journey.
With a background in Payment, Banking or Financial Services, you will demonstrate thorough knowledge of bank messaging protocols and API integration, alongside B2B product experience.
Naturally, you will demonstrate impressive collaboration skills within cross-functional teams that include user experience, quality assurance and operations to define and deliver solutions that create high levels of customer satisfaction.
Demonstrating exceptional communication skills, you enjoy proactively communicating with the business to understand changes to systems and/or processes, coupled with the ability to prioritise initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
Above all else, you will have an uncompromised passion for the customer and enjoy cultivating business opportunities and partnerships.
