About the Role

The role of Senior Agribusiness Manager will be to drive growth in Business Banking’s Agribusiness offering, extending from a base in Wagga NSW. A number of pre-farmgate and post-farmgate commercial segments make up the customer proposition, including crop growing, livestock & feed lotting, service to industry, and food & beverage processing & manufacturing. You will strive to grow and attract rewarding customer relationships in these niche industry segments, while continuing to maintain connections with complimentary industries that enhance the ecosystem of our target markets. This will be underpinned by a strong relationship and proactive business development (BD) approach.

Working closely with the Head of Agribusiness you will be involved in developing and acting on strategies to attract, retain and grow 'high end' BOQ Agribusiness customers. You will enjoy being part of a business that is executing on a bold growth strategy that will see a doubling of the portfolio, delivering increased industry diversification, new geographies and backing the next generation of farmers and larger family backed agribusinesses.

In this role, you will be required to Build and manage a portfolio of Agribusiness clients, through your network of local contacts and those identified through targeted Business Development activities. This position will also collaborate with a team of banking specialists based across the Eastern Seaboard, supporting strategy execution to enrich the team’s relationship-led proposition and build upon the existing strengths of service culture, niche industry specialisation and community connectivity.

About you

Some of the skills and experience required to make a successful include:

  • Formal qualifications in a business discipline is desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience in agribusiness and commercial banking is essential
  • Experience in negotiating with High end Agricultural customers
  • Experience in cross-selling banking products
  • Highly tuned influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build referral networks
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet customer imposed time constraints
  • Ability to manage complex customer connections on a day to day basis
