We are looking for a Community Education Adviser to support the Education team (within the Communications and Engagement department). An impactful opportunity awaits to deliver for an organisation that aspires to make lasting change in our community.

About you

You are a partnership builder who excels at delivering innovative and creative community education programs. Experienced in events and projects, you will enjoy collaborating on and leading innovative and creative approaches to community education that is impactful and resonates with audiences. Your excellent communication skills will be supported by an ability to resonate with a diverse audience at events both face to face and online. You will thrive under pressure, have strong attention to detail and capability to work autonomously when required.

With strong experience in community and stakeholder engagement, particularly with community education, you will have a history in producing signage, fact sheets and event material to enhance water literacy and awareness. Ideally this experience will be underpinned by your qualifications in Education, Communications / Community Development or similar.

About the role

The Community Education Adviser is a key role within the Communications and Engagement Team. Responsible for leading community education across a wide audience, you will expand the reach of Barwon Water’s program and raise awareness of our strategic and operational goals.

You will develop written communication for Barwon Water channels, including website updates, newsletters and social media posts. You will help manage community events during the course of the year and be comfortable interacting with the public or other stakeholders at these settings. The Community Education Adviser plays an important role in Barwon Water’s delivery of best-practice education and communications to our customers and within the community focussed on water sustainability and security and regional prosperity, to achieve the visions and objectives of our ambitious Strategy 2030.
