About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Continuity specialist to join our Business Continuity Management Team. Known internally as a Senior Manager Organisational Resilience to reflect our shift to the new standard, this is a senior, 2ic role and as such you’ll have a group level focus and provide support to our Executive group and Senior Management.

In this role you’ll:

  • Review and engage with Executive and Senior Management by facilitating an exercise to validate the major incident plan and contingency funding plan
  • Provide challenge and oversight for Business Units’ Business Impact Analysis (BIA), annual reviews and testing of business continuity plans)
  • Lead business units in the response to incidents that impact on multiple critical business units
  • Link critical business functions end to end, including people, technology, premises and third parties that are vital for organisation resilience
  • Monitor the material outsourced arrangements, review of contingency plans and assessing impacts relating to cloud for business critical processes
  • Identify and assess the Bank’s forward looking risk profile to consider the impact of infrequent yet severe (in terms of financial consequence) risk for potential loss. . Provide good risk management by outlining how the risk may occur and developing a model to support the risk.

This is a permanent, full time position. Due to the nature of the role some out of hours work is required on an ad-hoc basis, particularly when responding to major events and working on a rotating roster for on call.

Ideally, this role will be based in one of our main office locations in Adelaide, Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney, Brisbane or Ipswich for the days that you’re in the office, noting that hybrid ways of working are core to how we operate today.

About you

  • Extensive knowledge or experience in Business Continuity, including the review and testing of Business Continuity Plans and major incident plans.
  • Strong level of experience in using Business Continuity and Operational Risk management frameworks, policies and systems
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation and relationship skills with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Project management skills and high attention to detail
  • Experience in the banking industry – highly regarded
  • Organisational resilience knowledge or experience – highly regarded
