About the Role

This role provides technical support, advice and formulation of solutions to rolling-stock maintenance as aligned to our key value drivers, specifically to enhance safety, reliability, availability, efficiency of maintenance strategy, and cost control. The role is a key interface between the Reliability and Execution teams, biased towards developing and implementing execution-based technical solutions for improving equipment performance and reliability.

The key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Building, refining and sustaining Defect Elimination routines and processes aligned to our key value drivers, applied throughout all levels of RSM
  • Applying proven reliability strategies to eliminate defects as identified through our Defect Elimination process.
  • Monitoring and scrutiny of equipment defects and failures that cause disruption to the workshops and rail network as a whole.
  • Embedding and sustaining quality control programs to monitor quality of maintenance.
  • Monitoring and scrutiny of rolling stock & plant defects that cause disruption to the rail network or workshop throughput.
  • General understanding of our assets and strategies required to sustain long-term asset integrity.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Trade qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) OR Engineering qualification
  • Knowledge of components used on Ore Cars
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes for Ore Cars
  • Sound Rolling stock maintenance / industry experience
  • Highly developed technical capabilities with significant field experience
  • Sound experience in the i Identification of failure modes and criticality
  • Sound experience in investigation and technical problem solving
  • Experience in the evaluation & scoping of investigations & works.
  • Detailed understanding of operations processes, systems & risk management
  • Experience in maintenance strategy improvement and optimsation
