About the Role

This position is an integral part of our 24x7 Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC) based in the Perth office. You will be working with a team of talented technology specialists to ensure the reliability and availability of our mission critical operations across Australia.

This position will work on our Lifestyle Roster, working a pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each swing. The shift rotation follows the below 28-day pattern, and allows for 2 out of 4 weekends off for each full rotation;

2 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Days off
2 Days / 3 Nights / 4 Days off
3 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Days off

Shifts are 12.5 hours including handover, and you will benefit from additional shift allowances as part of your remuneration package. As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year.

Reporting to the Supervisor OT Operations, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing proactive monitoring & health management to ensure critical production systems availability.
  • Rapid response & break-fix solutions to restore production system following outages.
  • Collaborating with other internal and offshore application support teams for incident management.
  • Assisting with problem record and root cause analysis investigations post incident.
  • Performing maintenance activities and checks to reduce failure rates and downtime.
  • Safe execution of planned maintenance and technology change activities.
  • Engaging with our customers both in the integrated control centre as well as site personnel at all levels.
  • Working collaboratively in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment.
  • Continuous learning and knowledge sharing to enable first-class support of the evolving production application systems portfolio.

About You

Completed a tertiary qualification in either a technology, science or engineering discipline.

To excel at this role the candidate will be an effective communicator both in the team, as well as being able to understand and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

The candidate will express a desire to take ownership over the applications portfolio and make it their own, but more importantly to thrive in, and foster a collaborative team environment. It will also be required to engage and build relationships across global operations with diverse cultural differences, often with outsourced service providers.

The role requires the individual to be highly organized and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment. Your ability to manage and prioritise multiple incidents, project tasks and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience providing application operational support under ITIL methodology, both with in-house and off the shelf applications.

Experience supporting similar production systems as below is highly desirable:

  • Access control systems,
  • Dashboard and data visualisation interfaces
  • Operational fleet / rail scheduling systems,
  • Supply chain visualisation, and delay reporting systems
  • Laboratory robotic, and sample management systems
  • Historian data and SCADA systems
  • Fleet GPS mapping and network monitoring systems
  • Database & integration systems
  • Operation systems in a Mining / Rail / Port environment is a plus.

Previous shift work along with working in the resource sector would be well regarded but not essential.
