About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a truly challenging role that will stretch your technical ability in a diverse mining business.
Reporting to the Superintendent Scheduling, we are excited to be recruiting a Mining Engineer for our Leinster mine site. The position is offered as a Senior position depending on skill and experience.
This position will provide all design and scheduling required for mining operations from 1 month to 2 years. The successful candidate will work closely with the various mine operations team to ensure Production plans supplied are robust, practical, and executable.
You will work closely with all departments of the Mining technical and Operational teams, and the Perth based Planning and Technical Team to deliver results and work in a collaborative manner, to add value to the overall business
You will have a passion to build, shape and support our multi-disciplined, diverse team as we strive for high performance, embracing inclusivity and valuing diversity, technical expertise and leadership.
You will have a collaborative approach, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups and positively influence outcomes. Your excellent communication skills include a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and preferences and an ability to support leadership teams by providing context and insight to facilitate decision-making and strategic direction.
Experience preferred includes engineering/technical roles within the Resources, Utilities and/ or Infrastructure industries, with strong leadership capabilities built through experience.
In addition, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (desired, not required).
- Significant knowledge of underground mining methods and practices.
- Mine planning experience, including report and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Mine Design and Scheduling software experience (preferably Deswik, although not required).
In this full-time position, you will be working at Leinster on FIFO arrangement with a Flexible Roster, to be discussed.
Nickel West operations are spread amongst three areas, Mt Keith, Cliffs and Leinster. Operations are located approximately 375km north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. There’s plenty to keep you entertained at each of the villages – head to the pool – or join in any number of social activities. Employees commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster or form regional areas on a drive in / drive out roster.
