About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Statutory Compliance, this permanent opportunity is a Supervisory role that is a part of the team responsible for statutory inspections of the mine site.

The focus of the Supervisor Statutory & Compliance role is identification of hazards found through statutory inspections and working cooperatively with the on-site Production Supervisors / operators to manage and resolve the hazards. Additionally, the Supervisor Statutory & Compliance plays a key role in improving our community perception through proactive management of light, dust and noise impacts at the operation. This opportunity presents the successful candidate a chance to focus on the safety, compliance and legislative side of the NSW Open Cut Examiners (OCE) qualification.

This broad and challenging role will utilise your abilities to work across stakeholders and deliver on competing priorities in order to achieve safe and efficient production outcomes for the operation. This role works a 7 day 4 panel 5-5-4 roster. Located in the lifestyle friendly Hunter Valley region, your previous experience in leading a team and working in an open cut environment will see you well placed for success.

About You

You will have an unwavering commitment to safety and this will be clearly demonstrated throughout your prior experience. You will have excellent verbal communication and engagement skills and you will use your ability to manage multiple priorities on a daily basis. As the successful applicant you will also have:

  • NSW OCE practicing certificate (or equivalent qualification that is eligible for mutual recognition; ensure this is clearly identified in your resume if you hold this qualification or have commenced the mutual recognition process)
  • Previous experience working in an open cut mining environment
  • Experience leading a team and working in a supervisory capacity
  • The capability to remain consistent in influencing large teams whilst under pressure in order to achieve the best outcomes for the operation
  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills and an ability to work across various stakeholders
