About the Role

In this newly created role, we are seeking a Principal Cloud Strategy to join the BHP Technology Strategy, Performance & Portfolio team. This role is critical to focus on the development of BHP’s Cloud Strategy.

  • Translates emerging technologies, user and global business requirements into cloud focused technology strategies and solutions to meet current and future needs.
  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of BHP’s cloud strategy to adopt advanced cloud capabilities for improved productivity and value.
  • Provides technology thought leadership on cloud technologies, current and emerging.
  • Considers, defines and documents the BHP cloud platform preferred positions including application of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, Data architectures and services, Multicloud, Edge, FinOps.
  • Defines capabilities, partnerships and support required in BHP to build and operate cloud strategy in partnership with the Enterprise and Global technology teams.
  • Plans and manages Digital Twin principals work, and spans other indirect contributors as required to work for defined outcome.
  • Works across diverse technology teams in business, asset and group technology teams to develop strategy, preferred solutions and gain endorsement.
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly, with a view to value delivery.
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation including partners.

This role can be bssed in Brisbane or Perth

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Experienced Cloud Architect in enterprise sized organisation.
  • Experienced in advisory and/or consultative development of architectures and strategies across matrixed organisations.
  • Experience in diverse Stakeholder management.
