About the Role

In this newly created role, we are seeking Principal Digital Technology to join the BHP Technology Strategy, Portfolio & Performance team. This role is critical deliver BHP’s digital transformation.

  • Translates digital technology, user and business requirements into technology strategies and solutions to meet current and future needs.
  • Determines digital maturity required for BHP and builds the roadmap of all capabilities deliver that outcome. Capabilities span both people and technology including, but not limited to; Digital Ways of Working, Agile Project Framework, Software Engineering, Rapid Application and Developer Frameworks, DevSecOps and Test Strategies Test Automation.
  • Identifies platform and product solutions to support digital technology strategy.
  • Provides technology thought leadership on digital competencies.
  • Builds modern software development practices and the definition of BHP’s software development framework.
  • Continues to drive Technology’s DevOps maturity progress through the Digital Factories globally, working directly with the technology teams on uptake and continuous improvement of digital capability. Specific focus on increasing velocity, reuse, automation, quality and reducing risk.
  • Co-ordinates and leads the Digital Communities of Practice to increase knowledge and capability across all of technology.
  • Works across diverse technology teams in business and technology groups to develop strategy, preferred solutions and gain endorsement.
  • Provides technical expertise in maximising the value of the Technology function’s end-to-end mandate by articulating an integrated strategy, delivering disciplined performance through world class strategic development and planning.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Experienced Cloud Architect in enterprise sized organisation.
  • Experience in digital strategy with a deep technology enablement focus (software design, testing, CI/CD).
  • Experience with DevSecOps maturity frameworks and defining roadmaps to increase maturity.
  • Experience in diverse Stakeholder management.
  • Relevant undergraduate qualifications in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering or Technology/IT.
