About the Role

This role provides senior leadership to the Commissioning and Operational Readiness (OR) teams supporting the MAP portfolio. Using your technical expertise and leadership experience you will be accountable to enable regional teams to develop and execute Commissioning and OR plans, ensuring technical support is provided across the portfolio to deliver optimal business outcomes. This will be achieved through the effective engagement and influence of stakeholders within a functional model and the implementation of strategic initiatives to provide the necessary systems, processes and organizational capabilities to safely and efficiently deliver the portfolio.

Key Accountabilities are:

  • Defines and supports the execution of best practices, processes, tools, standards, and templates to enable the effective planning, delivery and management of Commissioning and OR on projects. This includes influencing and verifying the effectiveness of functional strategies and plans, establishing and delivering a continuous improvement agenda and ensuring the achievement of project objectives across the portfolio.
  • Dedicated to nurturing a culture of care by setting expectations on behaviour and championing expectations across teams. Proactively recognise leaders and teams that require support in addressing cultural standards and develop tailored strategies to BHP’s core values.
  • A focus on individual and team development to ensure that opportunities are identified and supported to drive a high performing team.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Maintains a wide network of impact through collaboratively integrating functions, operations and regions to solve complex challenges and drive strong functional/asset integration across BHP leading to optimized business outcomes.

About You

  • Significant previous experience with tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a trade qualification with relevant experience in Project Management or site operations
  • Passion for guiding, developing and influencing teams and individual team members through mentoring and coaching you will bring strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to lead a team that delivers high performance.
