About the Role
Reporting to Manager Port Maintenance, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction in the maintenance of production plant and equipment (including Car Dumping, Screening, Stockyard and Ship Loading) overseeing compliance to the weekly and shutdown work schedules, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal maintenance and operational outcomes.
The core focus of this position will be to lead and promote the continuous improvement efforts of our operation in creating value and driving sustainable outcomes. The role will be based at Port Hedland on Residential basis on 5/2 roster, offering flexible work options.
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Lead Fixed Plant Shutdown teams and promote operating discipline related to the 1SAP work management processes
- Focus on identification & prioritisation of projects which provide the greatest value
- Lead and Coordinate the Production Maintenance Planning standards & processes
- Identify Production Maintenance Planning improvement initiatives
- Lead and direct the work for the planning team to ensure that safe & accurate plans & schedules are in place enabling operations to achieve forecast production
- Ensure execution of maintenance activities in line with the weekly and shutdown schedules and minimise any unscheduled work requirements
- Prepare business cases as required to support the successful implementation of the maintenance plan
- Develop budgets and forecasts for Fixed Plant Maintenance area and assist with the creation of overall department budget by reviewing the existing Work Plans and standalone Task Lists
With experience leading large teams and able to balance a tactical and strategic mindset, you will also ideally hold a qualification or a Degree in a relevant maintenance, engineering or technical discipline. Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry or mining environment preferred, however is not a pre-requisite for success. Experience in Continuous Improvement within the manufacturing or mining industries will be highly advantageous.
Technical understanding of, or experience with fixed plant or mobile equipment including dumper, stackers, loaders, graders will be regarded well, however is not essential.
You will utilise your strategic and analytical mind, as well as your excellent business acumen to lead our team in delivering superior results.
You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and able to use your relationship building and influencing skills in order to deliver positive business outcomes.
In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini National Park.
