About the Role

Reporting to the Head of BOS Planning and Development, the Manager BOS Systems and Analytics is accountable for guiding the development of BOS Digital Tools, including software solutions, data models and visualisations for the purpose of strengthening the adoption and embedment of the BHP Operating System across BHP.

Your key deliverables include:

  • Develops strategy and plans for BOS Digital Tools (including software solutions, data models and visualisations) across their lifecycle.
  • Develops and applies an understanding of the BOS concepts and practices and customer needs to drive the development of BOS Digital Tools.
  • Oversees the planning and release of improvements to BOS Digital Tools to deliver quality products to customers.
  • Supports the management of BOS Digital Tools technology vendor performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
  • Oversees the classification and assessment of BOS data/metadata in alignment with BHPs standards and requirements for data quality management, integrity and governance.
  • Oversees the development of BOS data models that draw out insights that address hypotheses and business challenges.
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders, notably within the Technology function, in relation to BOS Digital Tools.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity, which can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth with flexible work options offered.

About You

We are looking for individuals that possess technical business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others, and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change.  

As a successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Degree or Professional qualification in business or related discipline
  • Proven leadership capability in a professional environment. This includes solid interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and develop your team members
  • Demonstrated experience leading system initiatives / projects, ideally in a global environment with high profile stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to develop and effectively present insight and recommendations
  • Proven ability to document business evaluation strategic objectives and translate them into processes or project roadmaps
  • Experience in stakeholder management in large, complex organisations
  • Exposure to mining is ideal but experience in other industries that utilise an operating system founded on lean principles would be highly regarded (e.g. manufacturing, health, finance, logistics, etc.)
  • You will have an understanding/exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change
  • You will be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor through your strong improvement, leadership, coaching and communication skills
