The role:

We are looking for an experienced Tradesperson, whose primary responsibility is to manage and carry out repairs and maintenance of our Asphalt Plants, based at Deer Park Asphalt Plant. The successful applicant must be available to work varied shifts, including night and weekend working. The applicant must also be available to travel to various Asphalt plants across the VIC Area to support with operational requirements.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Working independently, consulting with Asset and Production teams on prioritization of tasks
  • Ensure that the manufacturing plant complies with relevant safety standards
  • Use of Maximo maintenance management system
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to the highest possible standard for operational purposes and to allow the business to meet objectives
  • Complete programmed maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring all relevant permits and safety paperwork is in place before commencement of tasks
  • Contractor & labour supervision onsite
  • Flexibility surrounding day and night shift work
  • Comply with Boral's Workplace Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Complete daily plant inspections
  • Monitoring plant equipment for any defects
  • Availability to participate in plant shutdown programs

Do you possess the following skills:

  • Trade Qualified Fitter or Boilermaker
  • Previous maintenance fitter experience in a fixed plant environment
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills and knowledge
  • Experience replacing motors, gearboxes and bearings
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong commitment to all areas of safety
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Enjoy developing and maintaining strong working relationships
