Boral Quarries is Australia's leading quarry operator with over 100 metropolitan and country quarries, sand pit and gravel operations producing concrete aggregates, asphalt and sealing aggregates, crushed rock, sands and gravels, pavement materials and base and sub-base for road, civil and site works.

The Boral Hall Operations, located at Jeir just outside the ACT border, provide vital building and construction materials to worksites across northern Canberra and southern NSW. The site includes the Boral Hall Quarry and Hall Concrete plant.

About the Opportunity

Unique opportunity for a driven Quarry Manager with proven leadership experience to oversee all operations of one of Boral’s premier sites, our Hall Quarry; a site running multiple shifts with its own in-house maintenance team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this dynamic and diverse role will lead all functionalities of the Quarries, specifically focusing on safety, environment and quality control, people leadership, performance and operational and financial sustainability.

With an uncompromising commitment to safety, this role will fulfil the successful candidate’s desire for responsibility and accountability, that comes with the daily management and challenges of running a large Quarry operation including; the ultimate responsibility for safety performance, production targets, quality control, customer liaison and LEAN implementation. This is a permanent opportunity, supported by an experienced manager and team of dedicated Quarry Supervisors and Operators providing ongoing mentoring, guidance, and genuine career growth opportunities nationally.

About You

To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of managing Quarry or Mining operations
  • Appropriate Quarry management qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent people management and mentoring skills
  • Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders
  • Experience developing and managing budgets including controlling expenditure and costs will be highly regarded
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing will be highly regarded
  • High levels of resilience and a determination to deliver successful outcomes
