The ANZ Country CFO plays a key business advisory role supporting decision making at a senior level, highlighting key financial issues and risks to be considered for the franchise. Develops medium- to long-term plans and provides input into strategic decisions affecting the businesses. The role includes the full management responsibility of the Country CFO teams.

The role will report directly to the North and East Asia (NEA) Cluster CFO and will be part of the NEA Cluster Finance Leadership team. A key responsibility for the role is to lead and develop the Country Finance team by enabling achievement of business and firm-wide objectives.

Australia has very proactive and sophisticated regulators that undertake close scrutiny of the domestic and international financial services firms and have strong legislative powers. The two primary regulators are APRA (Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority) and ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission).

Australian Prudential Responsibilities:

This role has prudential responsibilities on the local legal entity boards, and to the local regulators in the following capacities:

  • Banking Executive Accountability Regime [BEAR] Accountable Person [AP]

  • Director, Citi Australia legal entities

  • Senior Manager, CBNA Sydney Branch

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team managing all Financial processes including strong engagement with Country leadership, Cluster and Regional Finance teams and assist in administering the full spectrum of Financial functional disciplines across ANZ

  • Leads all Finance activities required for Local Regulatory Processes such as capital stress testing, local ICAAP etc.

  • Lead Finance activities required to support the local Boards, as needed

  • Contribute to deploying and measuring business contingency plans and representing Citi Finance internally and externally

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Provide financial metrics, analysis and variance analysis into business reviews with business heads and CCO

  • Drive the Risk & Control agenda including data accuracy and identify, assess and escalate risks

Profile:

  • Previous experience in banking, finance, strategy and planning, with 10+ years of experience

  • Strong project management experience to drive various initiatives to completion

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work / thrive in a pressured environment with tight deadlines

  • Multi-tasking skills with efficiently prioritizing various conflicts and interests

  • Proactive professional approach while actively seeking new assignments and delivering out-of-the-box results

  • Independent thinker, with a strong will to develop and improve by challenging status quo
