About the Role

This is a highly visible role that provides support as a direct report to The GM Liquor Finance and Network Optimisation and his team across our Liquor Supply Chain and Operations functions. We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Senior Finance Manager to our Supply Chain and Operations functions within our Liquor division which is comprised of the following brands: Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars.

You will be responsible for:

  • Partnering and supporting the Liquor division’s Supply Chain and Operations senior leaders, providing commercial strategy and operational decision support

  • Becoming the Trusted partner to GM Supply Chain and GM Operations, providing key support to develop functional strategies and deliver against the liquor strategic priorities

  • Lead the cross-functional Smarter Selling program, including engagement across all areas of the business. Key change agent to proactively drive this initiative across the liquor business

  • Autonomously lead a team that generates insights and recommendations for key Supply Chain and Operational initiatives, driving end-to-end profitability improvement, through advanced modelling and analysis of financial and non-financial initiatives

  • Actively monitor results against targets, assessing risks and opportunities, provide recommendations and challenge financial decision making

  • Manage budgets and forecasts, including responsibility for month-end close process, review of project expenditure and reporting, and store level budgeting processes

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the wider Liquor Finance team

  • Proactively lead financial control and governance with a continuous improvement mindset

Further you will also:

  • Have a demonstrated ability to own and deliver finance and non-finance cross-functional workstreams in a complex environment, owning communications and insight amongst senior stakeholders

  • Have a proven ability to proactively identify opportunities and drive organisational change without direction

  • Be able to deal with ambiguity, complexity and comfortably switch perspective from short- to long-term, high-level to detail, internal to external, customer to commercial

  • Have proven experience in maintaining a strong financial control and governance framework

  • Have demonstrated experience in commercial negotiation and dispute resolution with third parties

  • Proven ability to deliver through others without direct authority

  • Strong experience and understanding of Retail and Supply Chain Operations

  • Proven ability to develop, monitor and drive strategy execution against set objectives

About you and your skills

You possess highly effective communication skills, verbal and written, have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation with the ability to link strategy and financial performance to provide a clear and compelling narrative.

With a sharp commercial skills and growth mindset, you also have;

  • Experience working within an ASX listed or complex organisation – with retail/FMCG experience in supply chain and operations highly regarded

  • Proven management and leadership skills with a strong emphasis on interpersonal skills

  • Ability to actively challenge accountable managers on performance and business results, and to be able to partner with teams to deliver solutions

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills at executive level

  • Demonstrated capability of facilitating the development of departmental initiatives linked to business objectives

  • High competent at technical skills in the areas of accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, and corporate governance

  • Strong excel and modelling skills

  • Competency in key areas of accounting, principles, quantitative analysis, and corporate governance

  • Able to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment while simplify processes

  • CA/CPA/MBA qualified or equivalent
