We're looking for a Dispensing Technician to join our team in Invercargill as a part of our Countdown Pharmacy business, reporting to our Pharmacy Manager.

About the Role | Mō te Tūranga

Joining our Invercargill Pharmacy team you’ll take accountability for:

  • Assisting the Pharmacy Merchandise Manager in ensuring that the Pharmacy is compliant with all requirements as detailed in the Medicines Act 1981, the Medicines Regulations 1984, the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, Medicines control audit requirements, DHB requirements, Pharmacy Council notices and guidelines and all other relevant and appropriate requirements relating to the professional operation of a Pharmacy
  • Assisting customers of both the Pharmacy and the host Countdown store (where professional duties will allow) with their queries and product choices
  • Delivering the highest possible standards of merchandising and display within the Pharmacy area, to reflect the professional nature of the operation and enhance the customer shopping experience
  • Following Countdown Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensuring that all Prescription only, Restricted and Pharmacy only medicines are sourced only from approved suppliers and are stored and sold only from within the registered Pharmacy area
  • Receiving Pharmacy orders and check goods against delivery notes for accuracy, expiry dates and damages
  • Putting stock away diligently and accurately, recognizing good stock rotation principles and adhere to Plannograms produced for Countdown Pharmacy
  • Completing general Pharmacy tasks as directed by the Pharmacy Manager, Charge Pharmacist, Pharmacy Support team
  • Participating fully in health campaigns that are either instigated locally by the DHB or other healthcare body or approved by the GDL Rx companies Board Ltd.
  • Participating in and deliver, through the pharmacy team, company initiatives as a departmental manager within the Coundown Store
  • Running AutostockR routines as requested by the Pharmacy Manager.

This is a full time position and you will be working 40 hours per week with one weekend day required.

Ideally you will have previous retail experience, and must be a NZQA level 5 registered technician with accreditation and hold relevant right to work documentation for Aotearoa.
