Oracle Database & OCI Administrator - Consultant / Sr. Consultant

What will your typical day look like?

Provide support for Oracle database (on premise or on-cloud). Provide support on EBS application database and Oracle Cloud infrastructure. L2 and L3 support for Oracle DB, RAC, Oracle WLS, Linux/OEL and OCI.

About the team:

You will be part of a large Oracle practice with mixed group of skill set. We have a large team of experienced Oracle professionals for Oracle database, Oracle Engineered Systems, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM/EPM/Analytics etc. We have over 45 certified Oracle cloud professionals in our Oracle practice. Our Oracle team is supporting medium to large organisations (including public sectors e.g., NSW/VIC/SA govt.) having large Oracle setup of On-premise and Oracle Cloud.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone with:

  1. 5+ years of experience in Oracle DBA, EBS support and OCI including:
    • Ideally Oracle Certified DB Professional (OCP) with 3-5 years’ experience preferably in Oracle Database Administrator role. Oracle certified cloud architect associate certification is required. Oracle EBS APPS Admin knowledge and experience will be a plus.
    • Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalisation), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, managing schemas and DB clustering technologies.
    • Working experience in Linux (Shell scripting) & scripting using OCI libraries, Oracle tools e.g. OEM, Data Guard, RMAN and Data Pump. Must have worked as a DBA for Oracle EBS R12 env. Applying patch in both Oracle cloud and On premise environments.
    • Working knowledge on Network architecture (VCN, Security Lists, DNS management, IP management, Load balancers)
    • Experience in managing Cloud Object storage, File storage, OS management, OIC, OAC, Creating and managing databases in Cloud platform. How to create and manage Users, Groups, applications in Oracle IDCS
  2. Skills in general IT architecture, operations, and deployment methodologies and techniques.
  3. Oracle Application DBA support tasks including:
    • Design, develop, implement, and maintain core Oracle applications including Oracle EBS R12, Oracle SOA suite, WebLogic and IDM application.
    • Import/export IDCS user/group/applications and maintain SQL / PLSQL processes.
    • Managing databases on Oracle Cloud Gen2. Ensure DB availability. Installing and Administering Oracle Enterprise Manager (13c and later)
    • Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
    • Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB and Patch Oracle database and Compute instances.
    • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
    • Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
    • Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
    • Ensure SLA's & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur.
    • Maintaining and managing Oracle IDCS which includes managing Users, roles, groups and applications. Manage the network architecture on Cloud platform
    • Scale Storage up/down and change shape of the Compute instances and Databases on cloud platform.
  4. Australian citizenship is preferred (permanent residency a minimum), existing Australian Government security clearance a plus.
  5. Proven creative and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
