The position

In this role, you will be responsible for processing a range of accounts and financial transactions while providing general financial administration and project support contributing to departmental financial management and governance.

You will undertake a range of accounts payable, expense management and accounts receivable activities and liaise with the internal business areas to ensure outstanding debts are managed to ensure accuracy and compliance with Departmental guidelines and debt collection policy.

Your knowledge and experience in a range of financial accounting functions and in the use of financial information management software will be key to your success in this role. It is also important for you to be team player who can work efficiently under minimal supervision.

This position is located in East Perth, conveniently close distance from public transport and nearby City of Perth parking. You may be required to work at other sites as required.

What are we looking for?

To be considered further, please submit a detailed CV and a covering letter (of no more than two (2) pages) addressing the following;

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a range of financial accounting functions and in the use of financial information management software and revenue and expense systems in a medium to large organisation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Australian Accounting Standards, FBT, GST and in the interpretation and administration of the statutory and other provisions which govern financial management in the public sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to be able to contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Possession of or progress toward a relevant tertiary qualification would be considered advantageous.
