HR Business Partner - Utilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to make a real difference in our large and diverse Downer Utilities business.

Downer's HR team is as diverse as it is technically strong and in the role HR Business Partner, you will have the opportunity to use your broad range of HR generalist skills within a truly collaborative, forward thinking and successful organisation.

Reporting to the GM People and Culture, the HR Business Partner will work closely within their business portfolio to provide an effective, efficient and professional delivery of HR services. This is a hands on, operational HR role that will work as a trusted advisor on day-to-day HR issues and input into our HR strategy and practices that enhance and develop the ability to deliver sound HR support to our managers.

As part of the Operational Leadership team, you’ll be integral in supporting and embedding HR initiatives such as diversity, workforce planning, employee engagement and talent pipeline coordination. You’ll drive positive change throughout all levels of the business by ensuring that HR strategies are aligned with the business objectives of the company. You will champion HR best practices to support the business objectives and drive a high performing culture.

We are seeking applications from:

  • Seasoned HR professionals with a minimum of five years’ advisory experience with proven ability to work within large-scale organisations and diverse businesses.
  • You will have good working knowledge across all areas of HR and your strong communication skills will allow you to form solid relationships across all levels of the business.
  • You will have demonstrated ability in managing and supporting the delivery of HR policies and procedures, as well be able to drive and manage a range of projects.
  • The ability to influence and constructively challenge others in a professional manner.
  • Outstanding people leadership skills including excellent conflict and resolution management.
  • A flexible approach to working.
