About the role

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager the purpose of this role is, to apply, implement, establish, and review the Safety & Health Management System (SHMS). A key function of the role will be to provide operational risk management advice and services to support the implementation and maintenance of the Material Risk Control Program

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders whilst driving key risk and improvement initiatives
  • Leading ongoing improvement and maintenance of the SHMS
  • Monitoring business compliance with all relevant legislation whilst ensuing the site Risk Framework is maintained and implemented
  • Providing professional advice and hands on support to ensure that the risk management system, processes, and tools are effectively implemented, understood and complied with
  • Developing internal audit scope and tools and perform internal audits against scope.
  • Driving continuous improvement of the training and assessment system and associated processes
  • Continuously improvement in work practices and foster a climate of positive change
  • Leading by example, setting clear expectations, reviewing work regularly and providing meaningful feedback
  • Demonstrating behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values

About you

Your knowledge and experience will contribute to ongoing success of one of Evolution Mining’s largest mines. The role will require you to understand functionality of enterprise risk and training systems. You must demonstrate a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving ability, and well-developed communication and collaboration skills

We are looking for people who have the following attributes and qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Safety & Health and or Risk commensurate to the role
  • Certificate IV TAE40110 Training and Assessment (Mandatory) equivalent or higher
  • Relevant experience working in a similar capacity within a Health Safety Risk & Training related discipline with exposure to mining or resources industry
  • Understanding and application of current Health Safety & Training practices and legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • TMS / LMS systems
