This is a site-based position, working at our Mt Rawdon operation. The Mt Rawdon Operation (MRO) is located 75km south-west of Bundaberg, Queensland and is surrounded by the traditional lands of the Byellee, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Taribelang Bunda people who make up the Port Curtis Coral Coast native title claim group. Our local communities are Mt Perry, Gin Gin, Biggenden and Gayndah. Evolution has owned and operated Mt Rawdon since November 2011.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to assist, develop, implement, and monitor safety best practise at our Mt Rawdon Operation by coaching and guiding leaders and workers through the application of risk management processes and supporting tools. The successful applicant will help ensure health & safety systems are in place, understood by all stakeholders, effective and maintained to assist MRO to in becoming an industry leading organisation.

Other duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Strive for continuous improvement in work practices and foster a climate of positive change
  • Influence proactive safety behaviours through visible safety leadership
  • Engage stakeholders to proactively manage risk, including the facilitation of risk assessments, ICAM Investigations, proactively build and maintain positive working relationships through working collaboratively, demonstrating teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Lead and conduct workplace internal audits and inspections, providing feedback on compliance to line management
  • Co-ordinate rehabilitation and return to work activities for injured workers

About you

You will have;

  • Minimum Diploma Work health and Safety and ideally Cert IV Training and Assessment
  • Cert III Mines Emergency Response & Rescue – highly desirable
  • Competent in writing and reviewing management plans, procedures, work method statements and other H&S related system documentation whilst also being able to see the ‘big picture’
  • Previous experience working in a similar capacity within a Health Safety & Training related discipline with exposure to mining and resources industry
