The role of a Formal Messaging Technician is to form part of a 24/7 team, working in shifts who perform the coordination and support to Military Messaging within the Defence strategic environment; and, provides a critical function supporting ongoing ADF Military operations. This position will report directly to the Formal Messaging Team Leader from both a HR and Operations point of view on a day-to-day basis. You will manage all aspects of Security Management activities, including management of contractual and compliance reporting; risks; issues and CSI activities and initiatives with a view to optimise performance. operating within a small team and with limited supervision. Responsibilities and duties include the monitoring of servers, messaging queues and gateways. Providing level one and two support for several applications contained within and creating, modifying, deleting and maintaining user accounts for these applications.

  • Demonstrated entry level technical knowledge of hardware and peripherals i.e. laptops, notebooks, workstations desktop PC’s,printers, media and audio visual equipment BYOD and mobility;
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of desktop & software applications i.e. Operating Systems (Windows 7 through 10), Microsoft Office 2007through 365, Antivirus software and systems;
  • Demonstrated entry level knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SCCM, End-Point Imaging;
  • Demonstrated entry level or basic working knowledge of basic IT infrastructure and network equipment i.e. routers, switches, servers, virtualization, VPN, RSA, Citrix, VMware, Hyper-Converged Infrastructures
  • Canberra Location: Russell
  • Must have minimum active NV1 Security Clearance

The role will or will likely involve access to controlled technology, must satisfy additional restrictions and requirements as a consequence of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations. Fujitsu complies with government legislation in various jurisdictions which in certain circumstances may impose a requirement that certain workers be vaccinated against COVID-19 (or otherwise have a valid exemption).
