This is an exciting opportunity to step into a role where there is huge opportunity for growth, both personally and for the region itself. As a Department Manager, your key focuses will be to drive a strong safety culture and strive for the continuous improvement of your department. You will forward plan, programme and organise resources to ensure maximum utilisation. Your goal will be to ensure the continued success of the department and developing business in this area, working alongside and supporting the Contracting Divisional Manager.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Successful delivery of projects (operational and financial accountability)
  • Working effectively with and alongside a diverse range of clients
  • Key stakeholder engagement
  • Renewal of contracts, pricing, reviewing forward work programmes
  • Managing and developing internal capability

Who are we looking for?

This role offers diversity, challenge, and an ability to make your mark. You will have a strong focus on people leadership and development, managing key stakeholder relationships, and have operational and financial accountability.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years' Engineering/Civil Contracting experience with experience in a frontline leadership role preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Full Class 1 license, with additional endorsements advantageous
  • Working knowledge of operational management including Health & Safety, HR & environmental legislation
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Advanced computer literacy and competent in MS Office Suite & communication systems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Practical minded and hands-on approach
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff
