About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Production/Workshop and Safety Supervisor - Wheel Shop at our Forrestfield site. In this role, you will support day to day production activities related with rolling stock maintenance and component overhauls for all customers at the Wheel Shop Facilities in Forrestfield. Working closely with the on-site management team, you will help ensure daily and weekly production targets are met in line with customer expectations. This position requires a high level of autonomy and initiative and play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, business unit managers, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead by example in the implementation and improvement of the workplace safety culture
- Collaborate cross-functionally with peers and internal stakeholders to champion and implement lean methodologies, driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a culture of innovation
- Work closely with peers to ensure both internal and external customers are adequately served
- Make regular contact with the customer to ascertain daily and weekly demand requirements and provide updates in a timely manner
- Work closely with the on-site management team to identify potential production issues which will affect customer delivery requirements
- Identify critical gaps in service capabilities and escalate appropriately
- Participate and contribute to operations and business planning
- Play an ‘active' role in the implementation and adoption of new systems (i.e. SAP, Project Processes, OHS initiatives)
- Influence and contribute towards policies and system management
This role will report to the Senior Service Delivery Manager and collaborate closely with operational staff.
About YouEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Strong technical and industry knowledge
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical ability
- Project management, scheduling, and production planning experience
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently and autonomously
Desirable:
- Trade qualification in a related field
- Experience using SAP systems
