Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, Peru, South Africa and West Africa (including the Asanko JV), as well as one project in Chile

Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.

Reporting to the OHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and provision of Site and Department safety management systems and initiatives.

This role is offered on a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.

Duties of the role:

  • Engender stakeholder confidence and protect business interests by maintaining a high degree of confidentiality in communications and ensuring sensitive information is kept secure
  • Prepare and distribute quality health and safety information reports, bulletins and memoranda
  • Facilitate site inductions, OHS meetings and site OHS presentations to employees
  • Manage and maintain currency of relevant standards and operating procedures
  • Lead and facilitate incident investigations, risk assessments and critical risk management processes
  • Contribute to maintaining site certification in, OHSAS18001 and ISO14001 quality standards by, completing compliance audits as per site schedule and addressing non-conformances in a timely manner
  • Conduct audits and inspections within Mining ensuring compliance with Site and Department standards

About You:

You will have:

  • Qualification in OH&S
  • Demonstrated understanding & application of relevant legislation
  • Experience with conducting Incident Investigations, preferably ICAM Methodology and Formal Risk Assessments
  • Training and Assessment TAE40116 certificate would be advantageous
  • Lead Auditor Qualifications
  • Possession of valid Driver’s License
  • Previous mining experience highly regarded
