Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, Peru, South Africa and West Africa (including the Asanko JV), as well as one project in Chile.

Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.

Role Details:

Reporting to Unit Manager : Engagement & Capability this is an opportunity to develop a regional approach to optimise Aboriginal attraction, retention, engagement and development across the Australian business.

This role is offered on a 5 days on 2 days off roster (Monday – Friday) at our Perth corporate office on a permanent basis. For this role we will consider full-time, part-time or job share options.

About the role:

  • Input and make positive progress towards Aboriginal employment, engagement, retention and development actions in the Gold Fields Australia RAP Action Plan, the Aboriginal Engagement Strategy for the Australia region and other relevant strategic plans directed towards engagement and capability of Aboriginal employees
  • Improve wellbeing, participation and social outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees (current and future) and scholarship recipients
  • Implement programs to support leadership pathways and succession planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
  • Improve employment outcomes by increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recruitment, retention and professional development
  • Develop, implement and coordinate the Aboriginal work readiness program through cross-sectoral collaboration with the Future Skills Lead and other key stakeholders
  • Work with our Communities Team and maintain a focus on employment opportunities, build relationships and make connections with community members and groups
  • Collaboratively work with others in the People and Engagement team to build the knowledge, capability and cultural awareness of our leaders and our workforce more broadly and support the adoption of people processes aligned with an inclusive and culturally aware organisation

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in community development, HR or related discipline
  • Personal resilience and experience driving cultural/ behavioural change and managing organisational change
  • Experience creating Aboriginal Engagement strategies and translating them into tangible outcomes and solutions
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role engaging with key stakeholders in developing and rolling out an engagement and inclusion strategy
  • Ability to bring others on the journey of change as we embed new ways of working
