Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, Peru, South Africa, and West Africa (including the Asanko JV), as well as one project in Chile.

Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew, and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.

Agnew Gold Mine is located 22km south-west of Leinster and approximately 80 km south of Kalgoorlie. It is comprised of both open pit and underground operations and produces over 350,000 ounces of gold per annum.

Role Details:

Reporting to the Supervisor: Geological Services at Agnew, your main responsibility will be to provide quality open pit mine geology services and work collaboratively with the broader mining team to maximise return from the operation.

This role is offered on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract working on a 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:

  • Interacting daily with the Geology Team to arrange daily work activities and ensure they are fully planned and coordinated;
  • Assist with daily grade control and production activities such as ore mark-ups and collecting samples;
  • Complete all tasks associated with the daily and weekly sample dispatch services to the assay laboratory;
  • Assist with generating quality reports through the input of physicals on a regular basis;
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.

About you:

  • Current manual Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience in a Pit Technician type role
  • High Risk Forklift Ticket desirable
  • Truck Driving qualifications are desirable
