Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, Peru, South Africa and West Africa (including the Asanko JV), as well as one project in Chile.

Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.

Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. This newly constructed mine site is one of Australia’s largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years.

Role Details:

Reporting to the Coordinator: Occupational Health & Safety, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the operation of OHS systems and standards.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:

  • Complete OHS activities via the compliance schedule to ensure compliance with OHS Management Systems Standards

  • Complete internal OHS audits and participate in OHS internal/external audits

  • Assist with health & hygiene monitoring and management

  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in communications and ensure sensitive information is kept secure

  • Build interpersonal relationships both internally and externally to facilitate the timely accomplishment of goals

  • Deliver site general inductions as required

  • Monitor action recording and close out from incidents, investigations, audits, planned inspections, safety meetings and conduct action verification to the required standard

  • Keep abreast of any legislative changes

  • Participate in the Risk Management Process, conduct investigations as required and monitor incident reporting

  • Participate in the review and update of safety related documents

About you:

  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or closely related field

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessing

  • Ideally qualifications as a Noise Officer &/or Surface Ventilation Technician

  • Investigation and risk facilitation experience

  • Demonstrated understanding & application of relevant legislation
