ST IVES is located on the Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt, which forms part of the Yilgarn Craton in Western Australia. It is a highly mineralised granite-greenstone terrain with world-class deposits of gold and nickel. St Ives has produced more than 10.5 million ounces of gold, with the first major gold mining expedition commencing in the mid-1980s.
St Ives Gold Mine operates mainly on a residential basis, with employees either living in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.
Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Superintendent: Projects to join the Technical Services team at St Ives Gold Mine.
As the Superintendent: Projects, you will lead the scoping, planning, and execution (to schedule and budget) of all mining capital projects including construction, installation, repair, improvement, movement, decommission & demolition of facilities and associated infrastructures.

This is offered on 4 days on and 3 days off FIFO or residential roster from either Kambalda or Kalgoorlie. Relocation is offered for the right candidate.

About the role:
- Manage various projects from scoping, costing, planning, execution, and close out
- Work closely with the Mine Planning team ensuring that mine plans are supported with adequate infrastructure to underpin operational success
- Manage site-based activities involving team members, subcontractors, and materials to ensure all safety, quality, and time requirements of all projects are met
- Coordinate and review subcontractor works, claims, HSEQ compliance including JHA’s and Safe Work Method Statements
- Develop and monitor project compliance to schedule and budget ensuring awareness of performance targets and facilitating access to the tools necessary to achieve them
- Investigation and implementation of reliability analysis and initiatives
- Enhance current and meet anticipated project demands in alignment with Gold Fields standards while maintaining compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.
About you:
- Completed an Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) engineering qualification, or extensive trade experience
- Possess qualifications in Project Management
- Extensive demonstration of experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge of mineral processing plants, machinery, mobile equipment, and infrastructure services.
- Passionate about innovation and technology
- Exposure to Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Sensei be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in a project/leadership position within a mining, civil, or infrastructure environment
- A valid Driver’s Licence is essential
