Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting and promoting greyhound racing in Victoria, a sport that annually generates around $400 million in economic activity and over $3 billion in wagering and directly involves over 15,000 people. The People and Culture Business Partner provides generalist support to GRV leaders and employees. This diverse role supports both employee lifecycle activities and the delivery of assigned projects. Together with your P&C colleagues, your daily work will align with our people strategy and help foster an exceptional employee experience.

In a typical day you will:

  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver projects
  • Contribute to a cohesive team environment by sharing information, meet goals and deadlines
  • Maintain employee records, policy declaration, recruitment, position descriptions and organisation charts
  • Support and coach leaders in effective recruitment, development, engagement, remuneration and workplace relations
  • Oversee onboarding, employment change & offboarding processes for client groups
  • Facilitate a performance culture and work with leaders to ensure performance issues are addressed proactively and effectively

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary people management practices and underpinning legislation
  • Track record partnering with leaders to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Proven solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate pragmatic, and commercially astute solutions
  • ER and IR experience, along with liaising with union representatives and an understanding of the Fair Work Commission processes
  • Experience in using contemporary human resources information system
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels which includes adapting content to suit specific audiences
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills with the ability to multitask and think strategically
  • Interpersonal skills to positively build effective working relationships, drive engagement, motivate staff and influence culture
