About the Role:

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will establish the strategic direction for your category in conjunction with DMM/PM to deliver and meet Kmart’s strategic objectives.

Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Implement departmental strategy with the team to develop plan that achieves sales, profit and inventory targets
  • Lead and develop direct report planners in conjunction with the RBU planning team to deliver Kmart's strategic direction and financial goals
  • Provide direction to the relevant Buying Team to deliver strategic direction
  • Develop direct report planning team to ensure consistently outstanding merchandise ranging, planning and assortments

To be successful in this role:

You will be an experienced planner who will bring a strategic mindset and a passion for what we do at Kmart. You’ll also be a natural leader and communicator who is comfortable managing a team

We'd also love you to have:

  • Proven experience within a planner role and understanding of merchandise critical path
  • Customer and data-centric approach
  • Advanced Planning skills – Forecasting, OTB management, financial skills and strategic thinking
  • Exceptional influencing, negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent ability in building strong relationships within key business areas to achieve strategic and operational outcomes
  • Strong ability to manage & lead a team by bringing out the best in your people
