The role:

The Accountant is responsible for the provision of generalist accounting support to the Corporate Finance department based in Melbourne. Duties will include ensuring reporting needs are satisfied in a professional and diligent manner and that accounting records are correctly maintained.

This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity leave cover position which is due to commence in February/March 2023 and conclude in March 2024.

Key tasks:

  • Maintain the general ledger, including reconciliations of balance sheet.
  • Preparation and processing of month end journals (includes prepayments and accruals journals)
  • Assisting with Fixed Asset Register
  • Prepare and produce sales invoices as required
  • Manage the month-end income recognition policy & procedures process
  • Work on Year End Reporting and assisting with financial statements preparation
  • Assisting with Company tax requirements (this includes preparation of FBT, BAS, Income Tax Return)
  • Support the Corporate Finance team with any reporting or other queries as required
  • Ad hoc projects or other duties as required

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree qualification in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Management Accounting
  • Ability to analyse and communicate financial information
  • Ability to develop & maintain key stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to build rapport easily & work as part of a team
